On June 17, 2015, a 21-year-old white supremacist (fuck saying his name) walked into Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church and opened fire during a prayer service, murdering nine people.

Being from & living in Charleston, this massacre literally hit home — and most people found themselves involved in one way or another. People from here & around the world poured into the city and out into the streets every day, singing, praying, grieving together.

I did not remove myself from the present enough to make this into a well thought, traditional “project:”, but it is a proper culmination of images taken during that time.

And it still goes on.
